There are school scholarships for people over 65. Purdue University offers the Span Plan Grant Program for adults returning to college. You must qualify as a low-income student and be attending either Purdue College of Technology or Purdue West Lafayette.

Minnesota State College pays for tuition for one course of up to five credits with the Alliss Educational Foundation Grant. Adult women can apply for The Alliss Educational Foundation Grant. It is for a masters-level program and includes books, transportation, and dependent care in addition to tuition which is great for college at 65.

Another low-income based program for women is offered by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). The scholarship for people over 65 can be used for school tuition as long as the facility is approved by the U.S. Department of Education.

Many older adults are choosing to change their career. There are programs that have been funded particularly for that purpose. Met Life Foundation and Civic Ventures funds the Encore Initiative.
